Tim Daugherty

President/CEO

Tim Daugherty - President/CEO

Tim Daugherty has served as President & Chief Executive Officer of Millar since July 2016.  He joined Millar initially in 2003 as a Technical Sales & Support Engineer, where he developed an immediate appreciation for the typical Millar Customer’s high level of innovation, dedication to their craft and ultimate commitment to improving medical outcomes. Working initially with the cardiovascular product lines, he served in increasingly broader roles including Product Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing and President before his appointment as President/CEO in 2016.  

Tim believes that Millar makes a difference in the lives of patients, clinicians, and researchers every day and that it is the company’s purpose to push the limits of technology to enable new scientific discoveries and expand the boundaries of medical understanding in the name of continuously improving the health of mankind. His commitment to this core purpose guides his approach to developing Millar’s long term strategy. 

Since assuming the role of President/CEO, Tim has implemented a strategy to expand Millar’s presence in key clinical markets, where the Company’s novel technology platforms can drive improvements in patient outcomes and reduce long-term healthcare costs. This strategy includes bringing new Millar products directly to customers around the world, as well as facilitating the integration of Millar’s technologies into other devices in order to accelerate the impact of Millar’s technology on a wider scale.

Tim grew in up Texas, Wyoming, and Kentucky, and earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Simon Malpas

Chief Scientific Officer

Simon Malpas - Chief Scientific Officer

Simon Malpas joined Millar as part of the merger with Telemetry Research in 2012. His role as Chief Scientist for Millar involves looking for new technology ideas that can be developed into products, looking at how technology trends will affect the company, and building relationships with key opinion leaders and companies in our area.

After finishing his Ph.D., Simon spent two years in a post-doctoral fellowship in the National Cardiovascular Research Center in Osaka, working with chronic animal cardiovascular measurements. This was followed by research fellowships at the University of Birmingham, U.K. and at the Baker Heart Institute in Melbourne. In 1996 Simon joined the University of Auckland as an academic staff member and began to build a research lab focused on cardiovascular control. He is still associated with the University of Auckland.

Simon has 148 research publications, 5 patents and a number of awards from the American Physiological Society and the Royal Society of NZ. Simon is looking forward to the challenge of developing devices for use in humans.

Anne Stoker

Chief Operating Officer

Anne Stoker - Chief Operating Officer

Anne Stoker has served Millar as Chief Operating Officer since July 2015. He began his career in the medical device field at Sentron where he held manufacturing engineering and product development positions, continuing to Millar as senior design/manufacturing engineer in 1997. After project management positions with Cordis / JNJ in The Netherlands, where he grew up, Anne returned to Millar in 2005, serving as Product Manager, Director of Neurocranial Products and Director of Manufacturing before assuming his present position.

Anne holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Jeffrey Harris

Chief Business Development Officer

Jeff Harris - Chief Business Development Officer

Jeff Harris serves as Millar’s Chief Business Development Officer. He is responsible for bringing strategic focus & alignment to enable Millar to execute on its core purpose “to push the limits of technology that enable new scientific discoveries and expand the boundaries of medical understanding.”

As a leader, Jeff seeks to create a culture of trust, innovation, excellence, and effectiveness. He has a passion for leveraging leadership potential that inspires teams and organizations to independently realize and sustain maximum performance. Jeff’s extensive experience in biomedical engineering, sales operations, customer support, product management, leadership development, design thinking, strategy, and execution excellence have been instrumental in transforming Millar into a company poised to move to the forefront of MEMS/TET OEM, groundbreaking pressure catheter research, PV loop analysis accuracy, and small animal telemetry.

Jeff is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. 

Bob Pauly

Vice President/CTO

Bob Pauly - Vice President/CTO

Bob Pauly was promoted to Vice President and CTO of Millar in 2011, after serving as Director of Engineering since 2001. He brings over 25 years of experience in medical device engineering to the company, including work with LVAD systems at Micromed Cardiovascular.

Bob trained as an electrical and mechanical engineer and holds ten patents related to medical devices. His leadership of the Engineering group at Millar for the last 15 years has contributed toward maintaining Millar as the “gold standard” for invasive pressure measurement. 

At present, Bob is a member of the Houston Technology Center (HTC) Life Sciences screening committee as well as the Medical Device Mentor Network. He has also served as a screening committee member for the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (TETF) in conjunction with HTC, acting as a Texas East Coast RCIC. He is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). Bob serves on the industrial advisory board of the University of Houston and the Houston Community College (HCC) advisory board.

Steve Gray

Director of Sales - North America

Steve Gray - Director, North American Sales

Steve Gray, Director of North American Sales, returned to Millar in 2016 to assume the duties of Director of Sales & Marketing. After graduating magna cum laude from Texas A&M University, Steve began his sales career as Global Account Manager at Millar, following with sales management positions at Sonora Medical Systems, Digisonics, Daniels International, and Bristol-Myers Squibb. He has over fifteen years of experience in the life science and clinical markets, including research equipment, clinical devices, enterprise software, imaging capital equipment, hospital services and pharma/biotech.

Steve’s mission is to continue to grow his skills and expertise both personally and professionally while on the path to helping Millar transform into a leading supplier of innovative, platform changing technologies to the worldwide medical device community. His primary goal is to continue to expand Millar’s Life Science & Clinical market presence to better serve the medical community with Millar’s high-quality products and services and ultimately help improve outcomes for more patients on a global scale.

Steve is married, with two children. 

Matthew Davis

Director of Sales - International

Matthew Davis - Director of Sales - International

Matthew Davis is Millar’s Director of Sales – International, as of January 2017. Matt joined Millar in 2014 as European Sales Manager, with a promotion to International Sales Manager in November 2015. His background includes positions in production, operations, and distribution management.

Matt has been tasked with increasing Millar’s presence in the telemetry and clinical markets outside of North America by creating business relationships with distribution companies as well as managing direct sales into some regions. He is also overseeing Millar, Inc’s expansion into the Asia-Pacific market through collaboration with APAC Scientific Pty Ltd based in Sydney.

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Matt emigrated to the United Kingdom in 2002.

Linda Henley

Director of Finance

Linda Henley - Director of Finance

Linda Henley serves as Director of Finance, having joined Millar in Spring 2016. She brings 30 years of experience as a Global Finance Executive in technology, chemical, and oil &gas industries and a proven track record of success in Fortune 100 Sales, Manufacturing, R&D and Global Finance Centers. Her previous experience includes management positions with Honeywell, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, and Koch Industries.

Linda utilizes her extensive financial background and leadership skills in creating a high-performance workplace capable of meeting global market demands.  Her talent for identifying situations before they become problems and her attention to detail as it relates to the big picture ensure a firm financial foundation. She is actively working across all business functions to deliver optimum financial results toward the achievement of Millar’s Global strategy.

Linda graduated from the University of Kansas with honors earning a double major in Accounting and Business Administration.  Linda is a practiced CPA and Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certified. 

David Budgett

Director of Innovation

David Budgett - Director of Innovation

Millar’s Director of Innovation, Dr. David Budgett, came to Millar in the merger with Telemetry Research in 2012.  While serving as Technology Development Leader at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute, he and Simon Malpas founded Telemetry Research (TRM). As part of TRM, he developed implantable telemetric devices to measure pressure, ECG, sympathetic nerve activity, and oxygen in laboratory animals. Under Dr. Budgett’s guidance, Millar is now offering wireless telemetry systems for rats and mice.

Dr. Budgett holds patents in inductive power transfer and catheter shunts in four countries.  He holds a degree in electrical engineering from University of Canterbury and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Imperial College London.

 

Todd Miller

Director of Operations

Todd Miller - Director of Operations

Todd Miller assumed the duties of Director of Operations in 2016. He joined Millar 2013 as Director of IT, coming from ECi M1, where he served as a senior application specialist. Todd has also worked in IT at Bowen & Groves and CompuCom.

Todd describes himself as a “long-time self-avowed tech geek with a track record of pushing the boundaries of technology to achieve solutions.” He brings a “can do” approach to the challenges of keeping communications and information management running smoothly for a company depending on cutting-edge technology. 

Todd attended Central Michigan University and Oakland University. He is married, with two children.

Monica Willis

Director of Human Capital

Monica Willis - Director, Human Capital

Monica Willis joined Millar as Director, Human Capital in 2015 after serving as HR Manager at BHP Billiton and Tyco/SimplexGrinnell. Monica brings to Millar her record of creating and managing high-quality, cost-efficient domestic and international HR initiatives responsive to organizational needs and the achievement of business objectives. Her excellent interpersonal and written communication skills grant her the ability to relate effectively to individuals at all levels within the organization.

Monica’s personal mission is “to live each day in such a way that tomorrow is always better”.

Explaining “Human Capital”, Monica says, “Human Capital takes what is generally known as Human Resources beyond its fundamental responsibilities with the intent to become a strategic partner focusing on predicting future outcomes, diagnosing potential problems, and prescribing actions that will add value to the business.” 

A graduate of University of Houston, Monica earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in political science and business, and an MBA in management. 

Michelle Sanders

Director of Marketing

Michelle Sanders - Director of Marketing

Michelle Sanders became Millar’s Director of Marketing in 2016, having served the company as Marketing Manager, Marketing Communications Manager and Marketing Coordinator since coming on board in 2010. Prior to Millar, she held positions in marketing with The Marion Group and ADP Media Group.

Michelle describes herself as a “Marketing enthusiast, brand evangelist and strategy architect”.

As a strategic and creative thinker, Michelle looks forward to the challenge of growing Millar’s business by redefining Millar’s brand to include an OEM division, establishing a larger footprint in the clinical market, and positioning Millar as a thought leader in the cardiovascular medical device community.

Michelle is a passionate marketer who has had an interest in the medical industry since childhood. Additional personal interests relating to her role include psychology, art & design, medical research and personal wellness.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Marketing and Spanish from Texas Christian University. She is married with two children and enjoys life’s adventure of being a working mom.

Jaqueline Jean-Baptiste

Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance

Jacqueline Jean-Baptiste - Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance

Jacqueline Jean-Baptiste has served Millar as Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance since January 2013. She has previously been employed as Quality Assurance Engineer for Diagnostic Systems Laboratories, Inc. and as Quality Assurance Manager with Tornier.

Jacqueline brings to Millar her experience in the manufacturing of sterile implantable devices, disposable medical devices, medical diagnostics products (IVD), orthopedic implants and instruments, and research and development of biopharmaceuticals. She has special expertise in developing and maintaining a quality system, regulatory compliance, customer complaint handling, and company Standard Operating Procedures in FDA regulated facilities.

Jacqueline’s hobbies include reading, long walks and jogs in the park, and traveling. When she is not at work, she volunteers her time running a youth football league in Fort Bend County. Jacqueline has been the Executive Director of Fort Bend Youth Football league for the last 4 years.
