Millar offers a selection of Pressure Control Units and cables for interfacing Millar Mikro-Tip catheter pressure transducers with existing clinical cath lab monitors and data acquisition systems. Our pressure control unit models output multiple reference voltages for quick calibration and provide dynamic zero balancing of the pressure signal.
Control Units Provide Interface Connection
When purchasing a Millar Mikro-Tip blood pressure catheter, one of these pressure control units is required to interface with clinical lab systems: the TC-510 Pressure Control Unit or the PCU-2000 Pressure Control Unit with Patient Isolation.
The TC-510 Pressure Control Unit is a passive interface between the Millar Mikro-Tip catheter pressure transducer and clinical cath lab systems. This model requires connection to either an integrated or standalone bridge amplifier. Strain gauge pressure monitors supply bridge excitation voltage and have balance and calibration controls for full-bridge strain gauge pressure transducers. The TC-510 has an internal calibration circuit to provide an electrical zero as well as a 100 mmHg calibration signal. The output connector is a standard 9-pin sub-D. A separate monitor interface cable is required.
The TC-510 Pressure Control Unit has been designed to be used only with monitors that supply patient isolation.

The PCU-2000 Pressure Control Unit is a two-channel, patient-isolated, line-powered bridge amplifier for connecting one or two single-sensor Millar Mikro-Tip catheters to a clinical patient monitor or standalone data acquisition system. The unit provides built-in ridge excitation eliminating the need for a separate bridge amplifier. Each channel has an electrically isolated input for patient safety.
The analog output signal level of 1V/100 mmHg is compatible with most pressure monitors and data acquisition systems. The in-line power supply adapts automatically to line voltages from 100 to 240 volts AC. Its power cord is long enough to allow the power supply to be positioned well outside the field of operation.
