Mikro-Cath® Clinical Pressure Catheter

The Gold Standard in High-Fidelity Pressure Sensing

Mikro-Cath delivers exact pressure measurements with high-fidelity waveforms, solid-state stability, and easy use for cardiovascular, respiratory and compartment pressure monitoring.

High-Fidelity, Solid-State Sensing

The Mikro-Cath pressure catheter, now including a marker band, delivers repeatable, exact data for reliable insight into cardiovascular, respiratory and compartment pressure cases. The solid-state catheter is unaffected by motion artifacts or body position, enabling data you can count on when making critical clinical decisions. Mikro-Cath is easy to calibrate, giving you faster access to data and a clean, accurate signal, so there’s no guesswork during analysis.

Versatile and Easy to Use

Mikro‑Cath supports cardiovascular, airway and compartment pressure measurements, helping clinicians across a wide range of diagnostic scenarios. It can be easily integrated into standard patient monitoring systems via interface cables and a Millar pressure control unit, offering an immediate upgrade to fluid-filled monitoring alternatives. With Mikro-Cath, there’s no need to calibrate to patient height or insertion angle, and the patient position does not affect the pressure signal. Continous data can be recorded for up to 24 hours.

Superior Waveform Quality vs. Fluid-Filled Catheters

True-to-source waveforms enable accurate dP/dt, real-time signal fidelity, and resilience to patient movement — outclassing traditional fluid-filled systems.

FAQ

What types of pressure does the Mikro-Cath measure?

Mikro-Cath is designed to measure high- and low-pressure environments including cardiovascular, airway (respiratory) and compartment pressures.

Will patient movement or body position affect the Mikro-Cath’s reading?

No, the solid-state sensor is not affected by patient positioning or motion artifacts. It provides stable and reliable waveforms throughout monitoring.

‍What makes the Mikro-Cath more accurate than fluid-filled catheters?

Unlike fluid-filled systems, Mikro-Cath captures true-to-source pressure waveforms with higher fidelity, allowing for precise dP/dt calculations and more accurate real-time monitoring.

Can the Mikro-Cath be used for continuous monitoring?

The Mikro-Cath provides continuous pressure monitoring and data recording for up to 24 hours.

Is the Mikro-Cath compatible with standard monitoring systems?

Yes, it integrates easily into most standard patient monitors through interface cables and Millar’s Pressure Control Unit.

Does the Mikro-Cath require zeroing or calibration to patient height?

The Mikro-Cath does not require zeroing to patient height or insertion angle, simplifying setup and reducing the chance of error.

What technology is used in the Mikro-Cath?

The Mikro-Cath uses a solid-state, piezoresistive MEMS pressure sensor.

What regulatory approvals does the Mikro-Cath have?

The Mikro-Cath is FDA-approved for clinical use in the United States and CE-marked for use in Europe.
