Michelle Smith graduated from the University of Houston in May 2020 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. While attending school, Michelle was a research assistant at the University of Houston Brain-Machine Interface Systems Lab where she helped develop EEG-controlled exoskeletons and researched the neural basis of creativity.

After graduation, Michelle accepted a position as a Systems Engineer on the Robotics Flight Controller team at NASA. She developed robotic procedures that were executed on the International Space Station. Michelle is passionate about innovation and leading-edge technology, and she’s eager to see what she can bring to the future of Millar!

Michelle is an avid outdoor cyclist, who recently completed her second century event (100 miles) in the blazing Texas summer heat! She also enjoys hiking, sailing, dancing, and art in all its forms.
