HOUSTON, Dec. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Millar, Inc. a leader in medical device manufacturing, today announces the sale of the life sciences telemetry product division to Kaha Sciences, located in Auckland, New Zealand. The transition of this product line from Millar will be complete by Dec. 31, 2017.
This change in Millar's product portfolio continues the company strategy to focus all efforts on growing the clinical and OEM business segments. The company began moving in this direction earlier this year with the launch of the OEM division and MillarOEM.com website.
Kaha Sciences has employed several key Millar telemetry staff that previously supported the product line, ensuring customers with the same level of dedicated service, support and knowledge. In addition, the return and appointment of Joe Simonetta as CEO of Kaha Sciences provides a consistent transition due to his understanding of the telemetry product, market and customers.
Tim Daugherty, CEO at Millar, stated, "Millar is fully committed to developing novel clinical devices for the Heart Failure and Structural Heart markets, while improving its MEMS pressure sensor and wireless technology platforms for integration into partner companies' devices with the potential to impact a thousand times more patients than Millar can reach on its own. The transition of the telemetry product to Kaha Sciences ensures that our customers are fully supported going forward and enables continued innovation in the basic sciences market."
This transition further supports Millar's core business purpose and provides greater momentum towards improving medical understanding and the health of mankind by bringing new technology to the market faster.
